In 2022, after almost 10 years living in the UK, I decided to apply for British citizenship.
This unlocked a million different feelings that were lying deep inside me. As an Italian expat living far from my hometown, figuring out what to call "home" is an ever-changing process that makes me reflect on some really big stuff: identity, belonging, my journey to where I am now.
This design is an attempt to visualise my feelings around the topic, and the myriad of answers that I might find in the journey that lies ahead.
Aware of my privilege of having more than one place that I can call home, I decided to create a fundraiser campaign to raise funds for Refugee Action, a charity working to help refugees and asylum seekers who arrive in the UK.
Together with my supporters we raised over £100!
